Visit to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI)

In its quest to fulfill one of the core values of the establishment of The TETfund Centre of Excellence for Innovative Teaching and Learning in Primary and Early Childhood Education (T-CEIPEC), the Director of the Centre Dr Zipporah P. Duguryil led a delegation to visit the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI) on the 25th of July 2023. Members of the team are Mr Yakubu I. Mallo the Director of Personnel Management (DPM) PSUBEB, Dr Sunday Jacob, Chairman, of the Technical Advisory Committee, and three other members of the Centre.

The team met with Mr. Aleshin the Director of Teacher Development and Dr Ene Adikwu, the Director of Special Programmes. Both Directors expressed their delight on the visit and commended the Centre’s initiatives, especially the thematic areas of research as well as stated their willingness to collaborate with the Centre in fulfilling its mandate.

The paid a visit to the Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI) office to consolidate the partnership agreement entered with the organization last year, 2022. The ECDI had committed to establishing an Early Childhood library for the Centre, the Nigerian office informed the team that the books have been received from Canada and will soon be handed over to the Centre.
