The program, conducted from November 21 to December 3, 2025, with core academic activities concentrated from November 24-28, employed experiential, learner-centered methodologies combining theoretical frameworks with extensive practical application. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops on innovative STEM teaching strategies aligned with global best practices, demonstrations of emerging technologies and their pedagogical applications, makerspace education emphasizing creativity and problem-solving, AI integration in education for personalized learning and assessment, digital learning tools and platforms for enhanced instruction, project-based STEM curriculum design, and inquiry-based learning methodologies. Through collaborative lesson planning sessions, participants worked with educators from across Southeast Asia to design STEM lessons addressing real-world challenges in agriculture, sustainability, digital transformation, and other areas directly relevant to Nigeria’s developmental priorities. Reflective sessions enabled participants to consider how to adapt international best practices to the Nigerian educational context while maintaining pedagogical rigor and effectiveness.

The program significantly strengthened partnerships between Federal University of Education, Pankshin and Universiti Sains Malaysia, opening pathways for future research collaboration, faculty exchange, joint curriculum development, and student mobility programs. Participants received certificates of completion and returned with enhanced expertise in innovative STEM pedagogy, expanded professional networks spanning multiple countries, practical resources and materials for immediate classroom application, and strengthened capacity to lead STEM education transformation in Nigeria. The knowledge and connections gained through this international experience are being leveraged to enhance T_CEIPEC’s STEM training programs and establish the Centre as a regional hub for STEM education excellence.
