Leadership Training Equips Head Teachers with 21st Century Skills
Recognizing that effective educational transformation requires strong school leadership, T_CEIPEC organized a specialized Mandatory Continuous Professional Development (MCPD) training targeting head teachers, school managers, and in-service teachers in leadership positions. This strategic intervention aimed to expose school leaders to the Centre’s innovative programs while building their capacity to lead curriculum reforms and sustain educational innovations at the school level.
The three-day intensive training at T_CEIPEC’s facilities provided participants with comprehensive exposure to the Centre’s MCPD framework and its application in addressing emerging 21st-century curriculum gaps. Interactive sessions covered effective school leadership for modern educational environments, implementing and sustaining curriculum innovations, fostering cultures of continuous learning and professional development, instructional leadership for student-centered teaching, data-driven decision making for school improvement, managing change and building teacher capacity, and creating supportive environments for pedagogical innovation.
Practical workshops enabled participants to develop school-based action plans for implementing the Centre’s innovative teaching strategies, design professional development programs for their teachers, create monitoring and evaluation frameworks for tracking implementation, and establish support systems for sustaining innovations. Collaborative discussions allowed head teachers to share challenges, learn from peers’ experiences, and develop solutions collectively.
Outcomes from the workshop included school leaders gaining deeper understanding of T_CEIPEC’s MCPD framework and its practical application, enhanced leadership capacity for driving educational innovation, strengthened collaboration among school managers for addressing curriculum gaps, development of school-level implementation plans aligned with 21st-century standards, and commitment to fostering cultures of continuous professional growth. Participating schools have since reported improved teacher performance, increased adoption of innovative teaching methods, and enhanced student engagement as direct results of strengthened school leadership.
